Essay: I plan on writing it about the Arab Spring, which I was in the midst of in Egypt, “the fight against totalitarianism”.

I have also gained an internship at Goldman Sachs (through personal connections) for this upcoming summer, so I won’t be headed to the Hedge Fund again and will instead intern with Sachs.

Will my GPA bring my overall application down? Because as far as I’m aware, Cornell puts a lot of focus on Academic Record…

You have a good profile. But I’d advice you not to center your essay around the Egyptian revolution, unless you can make it very personal and special. I’d stay away from it because it must have become an overused topic for Egyptian applicants by now.

You can mention it in your essay and speak about how it affected you without making it the maim focus of the essay. I did so and will be headed to a selective college this fall. Best of luck :slight_smile:
