Chance me for chemical engineering for Penn (ED), Cornell, UMN, GaTech

White male from a mediocre public school in NJ
GPA: 3.88 (uw) 4.29 (w)
SAT: 1480 (680 w/r 800 m)
ACT: 34c (36m/35s/34w/30r)
SAT II’s: Chemistry 800, Math 2 790
AP: Chemistry (5), Calc BC (5), English Lang (5), EnviSci (5)

Senior Courses: AP Statistics, AP Physics 1 (school only offers 1), AP Biology, Honors English, Honors Physics (first semester before AP), Multivariable Calculus Dual Enrollment, AP Physics C (m + e&m) self study.

Awards: AP Scholar with Honor, Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow: Ordeal, Boy’s State Delegate (NJ)

ECs: Boy Scouts (3000hr+) (SPL, ASPL, PL), Academic Team ( Team Captain, Varsity), Mu Alpha Theta (VP), Science National Honor Society (Secretary), Robotics (FRC, 2017 MAR District Champions), Summer IT internship at local hospital (first intern there, helped establish several key programs/projects), Trek Crew (high adventure trek to places such as a deserted island in the Florida Keys and West Virginian mountains).

My school is really limiting with AP classes and such (only “allowed” to take 3 a year for only junior and senior year). I think my ECs/ awards are my weakest aspect, along with GPA.

Thanks!

You seem to be a great applicant for all these schools. Your math scores are excellent and your ECs are not bad (although you think otherwise). Write insightful essays/personal statements and really drive home your passions for engineering in your application. You got this.
