Hi everyone!
I am a rising senior (white, female, middle class) at a smaller program within a large public high school system in South Carolina. I am interested in Clemson Honors with an intended focus in genetics or microbiology (pre med track). I am wondering if I have a good shot at it and what I might be able to improve if my chances don’t look great.
GPA: 3.8/4.0 unweighted (SC W 4.9)
ACT: 33 (36 in Reading and English, don’t know if that actually matters or not)
SAT Subject tests: U.S. History (800), signing up for Biology and Literature
AP Classes: will finish with 10
9th - AP US Gov (5)
10th - AP Lang (5), APUSH (5)
11th - AP Seminar, AP Lit, AP Bio, and AP AB Calc (scores TBD but hopefully passing all)
12th - Will take AP Stats, AP Chem, AP Research
Dual Enrollment Classes: will finish with 10 (all A’s so far)
Community Involvement/ECs
-Marching band (4 years)
-Yearbook staff featured writer (2 years)
-Tutor at my local middle school (3 years)
-Sunday school leader at local church (3 years)
-Bank of America Student Leaders program 2020
-Palmetto Girls State 2020
-Will finish with 300+ hours of community service
Academic Honors
- Lander Junior Fellow
- Presbyterian College Junior Fellow
- National Honor Society
- Will qualify for Palmetto Fellows scholarship
Both of my parents graduated from Clemson but not the honors program, I don’t know if this would factor in at all??
Thank you so much! Any feedback is greatly appreciated. This has been a stressful time for all of us (ha) which has made me really nervous for college admissions.
