Do I have a chance at Carnegie Mellon’s CS program for RD? I am hesitating over applying forCS or Cognitive Science under Psychology, cause I don’t have a strong background in CS. If I write my Why-CMU well, is there a chance?

Plus, my school only allows three AP courses per year

Chances are high, other than none of your courses so far or your ECs support your desire for CS. And as you know CS is the toughest major to get into at CMU.

Overall, you’re a pretty solid candidate.

Good luck!

First, they will compare your classes to what is available at your school. Second, you can choose more than one college. I know a few students who were admitted to Mellon or Dietrich and not CS. You can double major or minor in CS from other schools.
