this is exactly the kind of thing that should NOT go on your application.

stats look pretty good, but soap? are you serious? I would be sure to take that one out before you send in your application...

yea, that one just looks like some kind of field trip ("school group field visit"). OP seriously needs to learn what belongs in a college application and what does not.

for example:
Experience with persons with disabilities: Residential attachment with the Society of hearing impaired persons
you appear to be saying (although i could be misinterpreting..) that you lived somewhere close to the "society of hearing impaired persons". while this could be spun into a good essay, it's hardly an EC.

no I went to this society in the summer to help out and volunteer..

yeah and i think I must get rid of the soap thing....

well that's good then, but i'm confused as to why you described this as "residential attachment" (?)

i would also get rid of anything from middle school.

oh okay thanks ... I'm not really good at this because most students from my school apply to only UK colleges which don't really require EC list. how is my SAT score ?.. I think I need to improve on it...

and by "residential attachment" I meant that I lived with them..

^ ok i would just phrase it that way in your application then. no point making adcoms try to decipher anything.

SAT - Critical Reading Middle 50%: 610-710
SAT - Math Middle 50%: 690-780
TPR Projected Range SAT Writing: 660-730

your score puts you in the middle / on the low end of these ranges. i would retake if you think you can improve. was your 2020 "cold turkey", or did you study?

I studied a week before the test... took about 3 practice tests on which I scored 1960, 2100, and I think 2060...

if you think you can improve your CR/W by studying more, i would (700+ seems like a good target for both). if not, don't bother taking again. you know your own abilities better than anyone here.

okay . thank you ... ^_^

you ar efine for CMU my bro had 2090 (1420) and got in no problem in fact at the inteview with one of the head admissions people (on campus interview) that he was basically in if he maintained a good GPA and if he applied ED he was basically guaronteed a spot. sure enough he got in regular but turned them down lol. not stellar stats (3 low 700s one 670 and one 760on SAT2s ) no sports really. did some activities like tech theatre and speech and debate but wasnt nationally recognized at anything had two 3 and two 5s on APs and was an asian from a private school in MD........thats an avg applicant for you

I'll chime in with the people before me. Very strong chances, you should be able to get in. You're around the average for their general applicant pool and your strong ECs should put you over the top. CMU, from what I know, is even bigger on transcript than most schools, and your transcript is very strong. You could up your SAT scores, though, just to be safe. Still, you're generally representative of the academic caliber of student that gets into CMU, and your ECs are very interesting.
