Chance me for Cockrell?

<p>So I've applied to Petroleum and Mechanical Engineering at Cockrell, and I am an auto-admit student.</p>

<p>2060 SAT (700 math)
30 ACT (27 math-I found the SAT math much simpler, and 35 reading)
4.0 GPA UW, 5.6/6.0 W
11/476 Rank (Top 3%)
13 AP Classes- one 4 and four 5's for the five I have taken so far. And A's in all classes.
Average extracurriculars, two leadership positions, and average volunteering
Oh, I'm also female and Hispanic, if that still plays a role in admissions. </p>

<p>I know my test scores aren't that great, but I'm hoping everything else might make up for it. </p>

<p>Also, if I don't get into Cockrell at all, where would I be placed if I decided to attend? UT is my top school and I'm fairly certain I will be attending there.</p>

<p>I’d say you’re in for mechanical, but I’m not sure about petroleum.
I think you’d be placed in UGS or you pick another major that’s open, but I don’t think you’ll have to worry about that. </p>

<p>@DogShelter‌ Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about petroleum. I’m hoping that if I get into mechanical I can try and transfer into petroleum the next year. Thanks for the response!</p>

<p>@screenname529 I think you will get into Petroleum Engineering. Female and Hispanic with excellent academic record UT will find a place for you in Petroleum.</p>
