WHat do you think? Please be honest but don't be mean. How can I raise my chance for those school, especially Colgate, Macalester and Richmond?

Relax, youre an admit to most of the colleges you listed, I would suggest you replace some of your selected colleges with better ones. my friend got in drexel with a 1500 SAT and nothing impressive.
As for colgate and richmond you just need higher test scores (id recommend both SAT and TOEFL)
Also, why are you so desperate to join Colgate?

I want to get into Colgate badly because of its academic rigor and because my boyfriend is studying there :stuck_out_tongue: :P

Drexel has a 75% acceptance rate, you’re fine with those stats. Most of those schools are matches, but it depends if you’re trying to pursue theatre I suppose

Do I stand any chance of getting into Colgate or Macalester? One of my classmates is applying to colgate ED and she has 2220 SAT, rank 1 in class, GPA 3.8 unweighted, national prize and she saidshe will made up some EC (which makes me really angry). I don’t think Colgate will accept me if they have already accepted her ( I dont apply ED).
@Ganondorf901: I don’t pursue theater, it’s just part of my hobby. I will study Business and Psychology. ONE THING I THINK I SHOULD MENTION IS THaT MY ESSAY IS NOT GREAT:(

I suppose you need higher critical reading scores… I previously thought only make 700+ on critical reading section could apply to highly selective LACs.

I will do my best on Dec SAT… But I’m worried that when I got my Dec SAT result, the AOs will be more harsh on their decisions since the spot and Financial aid will be running out.

Could I send in my app first then send my Dec score later?

if you’re applying Early Action or if some schools have rolling admission, yes send your application now and update your score (indicate in an email that you’re retaking the SAT).
If you’re applying RD, there’s no point in sending your application now - the application are due Jan 1-Feb 15.
If you can push your CR score by 50-80 pts, you’ll be fine for most schools on your list (note that I’m not saying that you’ll 100% get in :p).
However these schools are quite different, have you looked at “fit”? Macalester and DePauw are almost opposite in character…
Will you need financial aid?
You shouldn’t pick a school because your boyfriend attends. For all you know, your boyfriend or you may not like each other by next May, and then what would you do? If you like Colgate fine on its own (without a boyfriend there) and if you won’t mind seeing your boyfriend with other girls (because it WILL happen and Colgate is small enough that you’ll see them) then Colgate is fine, but if your main reason for applying is your boyfriend, then you really should think carefully.
Colgate and Macalester are quite different in vibe, too, and both are reaches, but within reach.
Keep us updated  especially when you have your results.

MYOS1634: thank you so much for your suggestion. I really appreciate that.
To be honest, I didn’t know that Depauw and Macalester are that different (everything I know about the schools is through the Internet. I am half the globe away from the USA and have never visited any of the schools above). Can you point out how different they are? Is it about the students attitude, the curriculum or the atmosphere, etc?

I need financial aid, I can only contribute about 25-30k.

It feels a bit relieved when you say Colgate and Maca are within my reach. Colgate, I like the school itself, with or without my boyfriend there. but the fact that my boyfriend is there makes me the desire the school even more. :D

Bump! Please chance me ^_^

So far, I have got noti from 5 schools (Depauw, Coe, Drexel, Ohio Wesleyan, Miami University) and all of them admit me with quite generous merit scholarships ^_^. The highest scholarship offer is 29k/year from Depauw, am wondering whether I should negotiate with Depauw to raise this aid up a little bit since it did not fully meet my need.
I’m still waiting for my 4 dream schools: Dickinson, Richmond, Macalester and Gettysburg!
Keep praying!
