<p>First off, thanks for reading this. I would like to get into these schools for mechanical engineering. So I am worried because there is a lot of competition.</p>

<p>Background:
-just finished junior year, in state of CA
-I am a white 17 year old male
-i am 2nd generation Cuban
-my high school is ranked like 100th in nation</p>

<p>Academics:
-my grades 10-11 GPA is 4.36(W) and 3.9(NW)
-my grades 9-11 GPA is 4.1-2(W) and 3.8(NW)
-i took ACT and got:
Composite 33
Math 35
English 35
Science 32
Reading 31
Writing 33
- i got a 760 on Math II and 640 on Physics (will improve)
-i got a 4 on AP physics and 4 on AP World History
-my classes are mostly APs and my grades improve over time to straight As my junior year with a 4.7
-I am taking my second year of AP physics and AP Calc BC my senior year. Plus 3 more APs.
-i am ranked in the top 10% of my school</p>

<p>Awards and Honors:
Ive been in CSF for 6 semesters
I will be in NHS for 2 semesters
I raised $4000 with my club</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
-i am VP of a philanthropy club towards a foster high school
-i got an internship for Nuvasive in biomechanics
-i am currently working at a 76 gas station with mechanics
-i play rec basketball for fun with friends
-i am VP of a recycling club
-i have 100+ hours with various tutoring programs
-i have 30+ hours with my clubs</p>

<p>These are just my predictions; don’t take them too seriously! I could be wrong…acceptance now really is a mix of credentials and luck. However, I’d say you look like a really strong candidate: great grades, great ECs. Good luck!</p>
