Chance me for Colorado School of Mines

-3.77 UW gpa; strong grades in AP Calculus and AP physics
-1940 SAT 590 CR, 670 M, 680 W
- Mediocre extracurrics although I did start my own app development company
- Good essay

Low reach/high match good luck

Your SAT score is low. Raise it. Take SAT II Math level 2 and get 790+.

Why would you wanna go to Colorado School of Mines? 70% male lol…

790+? Ha that’s rich

You do realize you can omit 5 and still get 790? The curve on SAT Math II level 2 is very lenient.

Its not too much to expect for a future engineer/scientist to be able to score that high.

You don’t have to take my advice, but a good SAT Math II score will help you.

According to this, the standards are not as harsh as you make them out to be : [Colorado School of Mines - GPA, SAT Scores and ACT Scores Needed for Admission](Colorado School of Mines: Acceptance Rate, SAT/ACT Scores, GPA)

Mines does not require an essay for admissions. They do for their full-tuition scholarships, though (which you have to be invited to apply to).

I think you’re going to need to up your SAT.

If you’re OOS you are really going to need to increase your stats. What about taking the ACT? They accept either and some people (my son!) do better on it than SAT.
