<p>Hi! I'm a white girl from a competitive area (tri-state area), and I would just like to hear some objective opinions about my chances at getting accepted to Columbia (I'm thinking of applying ED). </p>
<p>GPA: 93.23 out of 100 (unweighted), 99.74 (weighted) [My school doesn't rank but I'm definitely in the top 5%...most likely within the top 3%]
TEST SCORES: SAT 2320 (780 CR, 740 M, 800 W, 11 essay), SATII: World History 800; Biology Moleculur 790; Math II 760; Chemistry 750; US History 770
AP: All 5's (World History, US History, Calculus BC, Spanish)
Senior Year Courses: H Multivariable Calculus (Calculus 2), AP Physics C, AP Gov, AP Euro, Journalism, AP English Lit [I've taken all honors/AP classes in hs]</p>
<p>Extra-curriculars:
-Extensive theatre. Leading roles all four years of high school. I'm also public relations liaison and a volunteer tap instructor through our theater department. I also attend a prestigious summer theater camp where I won a playwrighting competition (I'm a published playwright by Samuel French!). I'm also a member of their elite acting ensemble and have had numerous leading roles at the camp. I was also one of the few campers chosen to participate in the 2009 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
-attended an arts magnet school my sophomore year to pursue the arts more heavily (school day lasted until 5 in the afternoon)
-Editor-in-chief of my high school's newspaper (previously arts & entertainment editor)
-I've been in a charity singing group all four years of HS--we sing at charity events in the tri-state area and use music to help brighten needy children's days
-"The Challenge": one of five students in my grade chosen to represent the school in this academic competition
-Model UN: I've won awards at several Ivy League conferences and serve as public relations liaison for the club
-President and Founder of the Domestic Violence Awareness Club at my hs (planning a huge benefit concert in October)
-Internship at my local newspaper over the summer. I've written a weekly opinion column for them throughout my junior and senior years
-Work experience: I'm a paid SAT tutor (six hours a week)
-NHS: volunteered my free periods to tutor my peers in math
-Family responsibility: during my freshman and sophomore years I took care of my grandmother when she has advancing dementia (she passed away June '09)</p>
