- i go to a regionally accredited, blue ribbon school, and therefore we don't have class rankings. if we did, i would definitely be in the top 25%, but after that it's hazy, although i would have a fair chance at top 10%. i don't know if that will hurt my chances?

i've gotten one b so far in high school (sophomore year, chemistry, second semester), and there is a chance i will get a b this semester in ap chem, but everything else is fairly straightforward. obviously, i don't know what i'm getting senior year, but i'm aiming for all a's.

. . . i really like volunteering, it takes up a lot of my time. . . apparently, volunteering isn't seen a good thing by colleges, according to some seniors i've heard from. however, i don't think i'm willing to give up volunteering just because of a rumor. i would like to know, though, if volunteering is seen as a negative, because i was actually hoping to write my college essay on a truly life-changing volunteering experience. i won't stop volunteering, but i'd like to know whether including it on my app will count negatively towards me or not.
