I am applying to SEAS. I plan on pursuing my lifetime dream of Computer Science.

Will I be accepted?

What should I aim for on my ACT test which I will be taking in June?

lol idk why you have so little confidence in yourself, but your stats look great. If your ACT is 33 or above, I would say you have a very high chance of being admitted.

the only “negative” thing I got from your descriptions was probably that you are involved in too many things…even though you have leadership roles in a lot of them it makes you just seem all over the place, which may not be the best impression to give an admission officer I guess. Start focusing more (if you can…? since youre already a junior right?) on one thing (go out in your NHS and do some fundraisers, more time commitment to one club)

good luck

Are you f***** serious? You ask why I have such little confidence in myself? I hate having high hopes and then having them all crushed. I always thought to go to the Ivies like Harvard, Columbia, UPenn you have to be Einstein and I am certainly nothing close so I just posted to see what responses I would get.

Yes, I am a Junior. In NHS we have done some cool things we raised money for stem cell research by selling so much candy (lol I know), and going door to door.

Key Club has been simply AMAZING and it is a indescribable feeling when you help out at the Salvation Army during Christmas and just to see the smiles on peoples faces makes me feel so happppppppppppppppppppyyyyyyy (tearing up a little while writing this).

Don’t read to much into the leadership roles some of them I won because it is a Popularity contest.

I thought we established in the other forum that you’re not American Indian or a URM. You’re Indian from Asia.

^ LMAO really? okay then yeah I take back my comment about “idk why you have no confidence in yourself”…sorry bro

and calm down lol

also, out of curiosity, eziamm link me with this thread hahaha

Oh yeah sorry there was some confusion in the Michigan thread, I copied and pasted my stats from the chance me thread I created in the Michigan forum onto this Columbia chance me thread and I forgot to change it. Sorry.

yo were applying to same places!! twins

Second page about halfway down.

^ i lol’ed at Uchicago

dude btw, theres a thread on the Stanford forum this year (just last month actually) where this guy was asking for advice cuz he put down “black” when he was actually white and got accepted…then apparently he emailed stanford and they rescinded…idk it might be a ■■■■■ but its still kinda funny lol

and yeah if ur “asian” indian, ur up for some tough competition (all asian students are…-.-) but I would say with your stats you can still get in some great schools, UM being one

LOL Thanks, long story short I said American Indian because that is my ethnicity on my transcript, so I never imagined it meant Native American lol…

American Indian vs Indian American

its all columbus’ fault for calling native americans indians :p

Can be pretty confusing…

Lol…only by asian standards, only by asian standards.
