My parents have very busy schedules so I have to take care of my sister for most of the year and during the entirety of the summer except when we are on vacation

high school is only three year from 10-12 grade

Is nobody here

Anyone Please

Anyone at all

I think it’s a reach for you. Without the research I’d say a definite no, but with the research it’s very possible. :)

Well as my guidance counselor said all Ivies are reaches for everybody I just want to know if I have a shot

Is research really that important to a university like Columbia? To the extent that they won’t accept you without it?
I think he is certainly academically qualified (4.0, 33+ on ACT), and his ECs make him decently competitive. Honestly, when it comes to top tier universities and ivies, I feel like they just flip a coin when it comes down to the wire because all of the applicants are so well qualified. Good luck!

Well the research was done at a Columbia affiliated hospital, i think that is his point not simply research was done but thank you so much

I think you have a decent chance

I think you are a very qualified applicant and you sound like an incredible student. There is not much else to say - you could definitely get into Columbia but as everyone says its really up to chance a lot of times with Ivies.

It’s going to be a long shot in my opinion. For a school like Columbia, your academics and ECs are unimpressing. Your research gives you a chance, though

anybody else

Buuuuuuuuummmmmmmpppppp

I’m gonna be real. You’re not getting in.

^He doesnt know what hes talking about. You DEFINETLY have a chance  Talk about how the research shaped you and because it was affilated with columbia you want to go there or something like that. sound unique and you have a good shot  Its a reach but its also a reach for people with 2400’s, im applying to stanford and got 2100 cuz I started a company, why not right? :)

Thank you preamro and thank you to kiwisarecool

you have as good of a shot as anyone, tis a crapshoot though so its hard to say
final opinion: reach

Hey man! I just ED-ed to Columbia too, and our scores are very similar too!
Your ECs aren’t AMAZING, but that research looks interesting. I’d say you have a good shot, but Columbia is always a reach.

PS: Chance me back, please :3 http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1572592-columbia-ed-top-state-schools-ea-chance-international.html

Anyone else

I think being Turkish is very helpful–diversity!!!
I think it really depends but low reach probably.
