Chance me for Computer Sci Schools: UW to CMU

I am an Asian male from Washington State and I come from a 1500 size high school which happens to be one of the best public high schools in the state.

SATII: Scores not in yet from November... Expecting 730 for Physics, Math II and US History

So I'm applying to...

University of Washington Seattle
Carnegie Mellon
Stanford
Cornell
Rice
UCLA
UC Berkeley
UPenn

Please Chance me and if you would like a chance back, let me know!

Thank you!

Carnegie Mellon - High match
Stanford - Low reach
Cornell - Low reach
Rice - Match
UCLA - High match
UC Berkeley - Match
UPenn - Low reach

Ivies are reaches for pretty much everyone, but you have a very good chance at the ivies you’re applying to.

based on your ACT Score,
carnegie mellon - match
stanford - low reach
Cornell - reach
Rice - High Match
UCLA, UCB - definitely in!
Upenn - Match

Carnegie Mello: match
Stanford: high match
Cornell: high match/low reach
Rice: match
UCLA/UCB: safety
Upenn: high Match/low reach

carnegie mellon - match
stanford - I’d say low reach
Cornell - low reach
Rice - High Match
UCLA - match
Berkeley - match
Upenn - Match

Your ACT score is exceptionally better than SAT score and ECs are great along with volunteering hours.

Carnegie Mellon - Match
Stanford - Reach
Cornell - Reach
Rice - Low Reach
UCLA - Match
UC Berkeley - Match
UPenn - Reach

Are you applying to SCS at CMU? If so, CMU is reach/high reach depending on what you scored on the math portion of the ACT. A 730 on the Math II is probably significantly under the 25th percentile of accepted applicants to SCS.

Stanford - high reach (ECs aren’t really strong enough, especially for CS)
Cornell - reach
Rice - low reach
UCLA - match
UC Berkeley - again, if you’re applying for comp sci…high(ish) reach. especially considering you don’t have computer/science/tech related ECs.
UPenn - high reach

none of them seem completely unrealistic though. good luck! :)

Whoever thinks CMU is a match is not familiar with SCS. It’s the most competitive school to get into at CMU. What are your SAT and ACT breakdowns? Your SAT IIs are low, and you don’t really show much interest in the sciences/math based upon what you have listed. Nonetheless, you never know until you give it a try, so go for it. Your chances may be slim but it’s still more than what you would have without applying at all.

lol @ the person that described Stanford and Penn as high matches…how did i miss that before :p
