So, do I have a chance?

Bump 10char

Bump 10char

Low Reach.

Thanks. That’s around what I was thinking but it’s nice to hear from someone else.

Anybody else?

Seems like a low reach/high match

But Cornell is a roll of dice for everyone.

Definitely worth giving a shot

Good Luck:-))

Could you please chance me for ucb, ucd, ucsd, cal poly?

DOG AEM PRETTY HARD TO GET IN.

I heard like 70% of people there are athletes :o.

javacompsci- I’m not too familiar with any California schools because I’m mainly sticking with the east coast. But if ucb is Berkeley then I’d call that one a reach. For an ACT or SAT, I think they look for around a 31 and a 2100 or so but, again, I’m not positive. The other ones on your list I’m not sure of. Sorry. Good luck to you too!

Petersuu- I’ve actually heard that number is around 20% or so but, considering the ‘Cornell 2017’ Location you have, I’m going to assume you know better than I haha. I am also pretty well aware of its selectivity but I really feel like my fit for the school and desire to go there were really well-expressed in my essays. Hopefully the admissions staff sees similarly. Thanks for the response.

Anybody else?

@appplicant Thanks!

The person I heard it from is a junior in CAS who apparently heard it from someone else, so who knows.

A lot of the stuff I hear is incorrect, like I’ve heard that 100% of Premed students from Cornell get into med school, but the number is actually a lot lower, like 80 or something (it might even be lower than that).

Yeah, that’s fine. I know my chances are slim to begin with but it’s hard not to get my hopes up. I’ll look a little bit more into the accepted athlete percentage but it’s not like I could do anything about it either way haha. I’m only posting this thread now because the nerves are setting in and another person’s objective opinion helps to keep me grounded.

Thanks again

Cornell: high match
Your stats are good, in Cornell’s range. But Cornell is an Ivy after all. However, I think you stand a chance with your essays.

Chance me back?http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1575443-chance-me-my-ed-ea-hyp-mit-please-will-chance-back-4.html#post16626660

Thanks a lot! I chance’d back btw

Bump 10char

High match.

Good luck.

Chance me back if you can.

Thanks. Chance’d you back.

Match.

(Waiting to get to 15 posts to respond to your PM)

Bump 10char

Yeah, I believe you definitely have a shot. I’d say high match / low reach. Your SAT score seems to be in line with others who have been admitted and it seems like you have quite a few extracurriculars. However, your admittance may come down to how well you write your essays.

Thanks! So I’m guessing the general consensus seems to be high match/low reach then? I appreciate the insight so far and more chances would be appreciated.
