Thanks for your honest opinion!

Think ur stats are great and your ECs are really good  i feel like u will have a better shot at cornell than I do haha

@ptba98 Awww thank you so much for your opinion! Are u ED cornell too?

prob not i think i’ll just do RD. i dont think im a very competitive candidate for cornell haha i feel like my profile is not good enough for ivies

@ptba98 oh, I see. Actually ED will give you a better chance. I. think Cornell acceptance rate is much higher for ED. Good luck on your app. And don’t worry, u do not have to do to ivy for a good education. There are a lot of amazing schools in US

thank you  the thing i dont like about ED is that its binding. i havent made up my mind of where I want to attend yet so i think I’ll RD. good luck to you too

@ptba98 oh yeah me too. Cornell is actually not my no. 1 school. I want u Chicago but they don’t have an ED program :frowning:

@Brinette UofC is such an amazing school  although its not on my list i really really admire UofC and pppl who go there. I think they have EA non-binding u can EA  i like EA schools much more than ED because they allow u to be more flexible

@ptba98 I prefer EA too but man, all ivy leagues are ED :frowning:

I think a few are EA or have EA option…

ya im not v up for ivies tho i dont like the “vibe” that ivies give me

@hrsmom I know that princeton has a form of EA but it requires you to drop all early application at other school though.

SCEA does not require to drop EA at other schools, just other “private” schools. It would not be fair to anyone if people were allowed to do EA at all the Ivys. They are asking you to show them that they are your #1, but are not binding you bc they know cost wise it may not work out. It is a trade off…you show your love and semi committment, and they consider that in the process.

If you want to apply to multiple schools and have no #1, I’d suggest all RD. The EA/ED boost, if there even is one in these schools, would not be worth it for you.

@HRSMom thanks a lot, but the problem is i need to apply to a lot of private schools because public and state schools don’t give much as to international students. Thanks for your info.

Then Neither SCEA nor ED is a good idea for you. I think the “shopping around” factor will greatly work in your favor, more than ED would. Good luck!

hi, I’m an international (vnmese) who’s going to apply for Cornell, too. How’s your process going?

@kazzei hi, nice to meet you. i am busy working on my questbridge profile and once i finished, i will start on my common app. thanks for asking.
