… I don’t get how this is gg.
No offense but you seem really stereotypical haha. You should have a decent shot if you come through as a unique person that would add to the class (not even talking SATs at this point - IMO that should not be your focus, really). The only thing that can hurt (and potentially hurt a lot) is the stereotypical-ness. It matters that you are asian - you want your uniqueness to show through in your essay. Not as a well oiled academic machine, but as a person. Your passion does not show through in your ecs at all.

All I can say is that a top school will take you, but the speculation ends there. For your case, it seems that SATs will not matter as much as your essay will - though ideally you would want a higher SAT score for sure.

I was thinking that my essay would mainly focus on my versatility.

And since I am probably applying to the engineering college, I thought I would mainly talk about my unique experiences at the University (Bioscience, Chem class, etc) and also add in how my leadership abilities (Science Oly, Chess, Swimming, etc.) helped the school. Maybe, I can write my essay as a frame story (a daily day at school or something)…

Any ideas about other essay options that would be help in distincting me from the other hundreds of asians like me?

However, I do doubt most asians can pull off varsity athletics and being a captain for that sport (along with my other leadership abilities)/ Thus, should I lean towards emphasizing my leadership or my academic caliber?

I think you have a solid, diversified profile. The Swimming team captain is really good. Are you a male or female? If female, I think you have an excellent chance, if male only a fair chance.
