<p>Hey guys Im new here but I wanted to see if any has any suggestions or comments on my resume. I would like to apply to the Cornell Hotel school RD..</p>

<p>Now I TRULLY have a passion for the Hotel industry and Hotel design unlike some people that want to apply to this program but want nothing to do with the hotel industry or because it might be easier to get in...idk but I think its ridiculous.</p>

<p>stats-</p>

<p>Latin american male-(venezuelan)

Languages- spanish, english, intermediate german.</p>

<p>Work experience:</p>

<p>1) 3 week Summer internship in beach resort. I was in several areas of the hotel(reservation,housekeeping,front desk, food and bev., SPA, ect.)</p>

<p>2) part time job at a Hotel near my home...front desk, guest relations, housekeeping</p>

<p>Academics:</p>

<p>Now im not the best student but I hope my passion and work experience will help me a bit.</p>

<p>Weighted GPA</p>

<p>4.1</p>

<p>-Taken 6 Ap's overall in high school(World,US,european,US govt, English)</p>

<p>SAT (sucky score)</p>

<p>I will take them again in November, Will take SAT 2 also.</p>

<p>1st try- 1800
2nd-?</p>

<p>Extra curriculars:</p>

<p>-German Honor society(2006-2007)
-German club(2006-2008)
-Interact club(2006-2008)
-130 hrs community service, several community projects
-National German Competition Awards-writing,speaking
- Graphic design county competition- 1st place</p>

<p>I also have some key people for rec letters(cornell alums/hotel General managers)</p>

<p>Any other recommendations ?
Does having Pre-Cal help me or not?......even tho its kinda irrelevant for this field:P</p>

<p>I hope you dont get in because you’re a Madrista! haha kidding… but in all honestly, I think your ECs will give you a good boost since theyre all hotel-realted and Cornell really likes “fit” applicants… Try bringing that SAT score up just a bit.</p>

<p>Best club in the world thank you very much…hehe. But anyways I do hope to raise my SAT thanks for that and will try to boost my EC’s even more but also my academics.</p>

<p>hmmm. Im not very sure. If you DO take pre-calc in senior year, make sure your other classes are mostly APs.</p>

<p>you interested in working for a german hotel after you graduate or something? seem to have real focus in that area, also you have focused 5/6 of your ap’s towards the humanities, if you convey your interests towards german and humanities that could help. a decent shot of admission if you show a lot of interest.</p>

<p>Well the hospitality industry is global so it doesn’t hurt to learn some european languages and well I might move to europe if I don’t get in to Cornell. You are right about my ap’s being focused in the humanties…but it could help me understand some cultures and the people(took sociology btw) in some remote way. But in the end I hope it’s my passion and future plans that boost me in.</p>
