Background/indentity “What do Bigfoot and chess have in common?” I talked about a show I watched as a little kid that documented a group of “bigfoot researchers,” and related that to how I learned chess strategy.

Supplement: I talked about the time I got to lobby in front of State Senators and how that played a role in the development of my interest in public policy. In order to stay away from being considered a better fit for the PAM major I specifically related it to public policy in the workplace, and included other interests (sports in organizational pyschology, labor history) in my conclusion.

Additional info: I am writing my senior thesis on labor unions and democracy with an ILR professor as my academic mentor… She reviews my paper, offers insights, and helps me find resources that I can use to bolster my argument.

ILR is all about fit and it sounds like your extracurriculars/additional info definitely demonstrated that so you have a pretty good shot!

You have as good a shot as anybody. Great fit. Best of luck!

Thanks! Hopefully you’re right.
