White from income bracket under 50k. 3.8 unweighted gpa. I wont have many APs because I go to a small Lutheran school and dont have the option. I do take as rigorous a courseload as I can. I scored a 35 on my act, but only a 6 on the writing. I was feeling tired and unmotivated by the time writing rolled around. I expect to be captain of the football team, student council for 3 years, president of my schools NHS, and heavy involvement with my FIRST robotics team. I work 20 hours a week during school and full time in the summer. Im interested in computer science/engineering or possibly economics/finance. I would like your thoughts on my getting into Cornell, Harvey Mudd, Carleton, and Grinell. These schools are all my reaches. My safeties are UW Madison and U of M-TC for instate tuition or U of Alabama or Temple for full tuition merit scholarships. There's also a small state school (UW Platteville) that gives 10 full rides that are renewable, that I think I have a good chance of getting. The engineering there is well known in Wisconsin, but I dont think it would be anywhere else.

Could I also add Vanderbilt to this list?

ED to cornell seems like you have a very good shot. Vanderbilt is also very plausible.

your GPA is on the low side for cornell and candy tho, but not by much.

Bump

your gpa isnt on the low side at all, and isnt the only factor for admission.
cornell and vandy: low reach
mudd: high match
uw madison: safety
