The thing is, Cornell isn’t far and away my number 1 school. I love it but it isn’t above a few other schools on my list. So, I don’t want to apply ED anywhere which I haven’t confirmed as my No. 1 school.

If we are to judge you against domestic students, you’d be an average applicant in regular, slightly above for early given your school’s history.

but if i write good essays that would elevate me wouldnt it?

Yes but that goes for anyone… It’s really up to the person reading your app to decide whether your essay is good or not.

But yes, essays are an important factor. When I chanced you I imagined that you would have a decent essay. Not OMG spectacular but decent.

Another very interesting point: the content of your essay usually matters more than your style, though style is still important in your presentation.

I’ve written a rough first draft of the essay. I wanted to try out potential topics/subject matter. Can I send it to someone to see if I’m on the right track?

I think PAM used to have concentrations such as “consumer policy” (which they did away with a few years ago), but I don’t think Law & Regulations was one of them. The only thing with concentration is that you tailor your curriculum to focus more on those topics – which are still “US-centric”.
