<p>My school doesn't rank but the counsellor accidentally released a ranking of accumulated percentages of that year; from that I found out that I was 2/350.</p>

<p>Strength? I speak four languages, though French with less fluency. My Chinese is even better than my English in all aspects (reading, writing, speaking...).</p>

<p>However, most of these activities are in grades 11 and 12</p>

<p>One reference is great while the other is good. The personal essay is also not a problem as I am an avid reader.</p>

<p>However, my confidence received a significant blow when I was deferred by my ED choice. So, do I have a chance</p>

<p>I don't think Cornell was his ED choice.</p>

<p>Nonetheless, you has a good chance at Cornell.</p>

<p>My ED choice was Wharton, Penn. Perhaps they looked at my SAT score with dissatisfaction, but I will be retaking it in January (second try). I should be able to achieve at least 2300, but I don't know if the RD schools will still take that into consideration.</p>

<p>I see no reason for you not to get into Cornell. Frankly, I'm puzzled to how you got deferred from Wharton. However, I think you have a solid chance at most Ivies.</p>
