I write poetry and prose in my spare time -- can I put this on the Common App? If so, how?

Counselor Recs: Amazing
Teacher Recs: Outstanding recs from both my history and physics teachers.
Great essay and I will work excruciatingly over the break on the supplements.

The schools I am applying for which I am unsure if I will get in or not: NYU Stern, Cornell, Brown, Columbia, UPenn, Wesleyan.

Thank you very much for your time reading this and your thoughtful remarks!
*Due to my new experiences with the norms of chance threads, this is a post re-posted to match more adequate formatting.

I think you definitely have a good chance for Wesleyan and NYU. Cornell and Brown are reaches but possibilities. UPenn and Columbia are also reaches, but I would say more so than the other two ivies. I say this only because kids who get into those schools usually have the same test scores as you but have other crazy ECs like being published or starting some project to try to “save the world”. Academically, you are very strong but someone may be chosen over you because he/she has more ECs.
As for the poetry and prose, maybe you can include that in one of your supplemental essays? The only way you can really put it on the common app is if you won an award for something you wrote.

Do you take the highest level math offered at your school? UPenn’s website says that they recommend applicants take the highest level of math possible at their schools.

But as for chances;
I think you’re a shoo-in for Stern
I had a friend who got in through ED with a 2200 superscore and a gpa similar to yours, with also a similar amount of ECs as you

Not as sure about the other colleges, but you definitely have leverage over most other applicants!
Good Luck!

@wuwhoo Yes, the highest ( and hardest ) level math that my school offers is IB Math Year 2 ,and I have an A in that class. Also, if this is not clear, I am applying to all of those schools RD.

Additionally, my family income is about 36k. Does this help my applications? First Generation College student too – Fate plays a cruel game.

For NYU Stern and UPenn you could have had more business experience but I think you have a good chance at all the other colleges. Your GPA is a little low but will probably get you into NYU and possibly Brown or Columbia. Please post your results and where you’ve been accepted once you know! will be keeping an eye on this thread :)

UPENN says on their website that applicants applying to their business program should have taken the highest level math possible at their school. If you did not then your chances are slim. If you did then I believe you have a chance with your strong SAT score.
