I posted this in the Cornell forum, but I discovered this forum and figured I should put it over here...

I'm a white female applying to CAS, Early Decision (undecided major, but possibly Anthropology). I'm a rising senior in a fairly competitive public high school in New Jersey. My long-term goal is to get into medical school.

SAT: 2230 (That was my first try; I'm not taking it again.)

I'm taking the SAT IIs in Literature, US History, and Level 2 Math this Saturday. By the practice tests I've taken, I should get at least 670 in Level 2 Math. I should get a score in the mid-700s for Lit and US History.

I have a 3.9 GPA.

I've been in my schoo's Honors/AP track since freshman year.

This year, I took Honors Anatomy/Physiology (A), AP Lang & Comp (A), Spanish IV (A), AP US History (A), Honors Trig/Pre-Calc (A), and Honors Physics (A-B).

My schedule next year includes AP Biology, AP Lit & Comp, AP Spanish, AP European History, and AP Calculus.

EC:
Editor-in-Chief of my school's newspaper (was News Editor sophomore year; got promoted) - (9,10,11,12)
National Honor Society - 11, 12
Senior Choir - 9, 10, 11, 12
Gospel Choir - 10
Biology Club - 11, 12
Interact Club - 11, 12
Musical - 10, 11, 12
Broadway Cabaret - 11, 12
Tri-M - 11, 12 (running for office next year)
(I may join Student Council next year, but I haven't decided yet.)
I also have played the piano for 10 years, but I've only taken professional lessons for about half that.

I can write some pretty kick-ass essays, so I'm counting that as a strength. I've visited Cornell and attended information sessions, so I can incorporate my impressions into an essay. I'm asking for letters of recommendation from the advisor to the newspaper, my choir director, my AP Lit & Comp teacher, and my AP US History teacher.

I will most definitely need financial aid; my familial income falls below $40,000 a year.
