Anyway I hope to get in. Let me know what you think

Let’s see – nearly perfect grades, challenging course load, well above average on the Standardized Tests, and Strong ECs? So, why are we asking the Question? (smile)

Just curious – What do you think your chances are? What do you view as the strengths and weaknesses of your application.

Based on your statistics, I think you can even get into Princeton University. Why do you want to get into Cornell? Just curious.

You obviously have what it takes from an objective stand point. Remember as you go into this application season that the admissions process is also very subjective. Lots of “building the best class”. They may have their Indian NJ male student slots filled and may think that you would pass on them anyway and thus not offer you a slot. Your essay will be key or an ED would take care of that. The subjective nature of the process amazes me as in our school, one of the top students was accepted to Harvard and Yale, but rejected (not even wait listed) to Washington Univ. and Duke. Bottom line, apply to many and keep your fingers crossed.

I actually am considering applying to Princeton for early action, however that is a reach school and I don’t know how good my chances are of getting in. Since I’m interested in engineering, I think Cornell would be an excellent school to attend, and I just want to estimate my chances of getting in. I do understand the different subjective parts that do go into application process and I will keep that in mind.

Your application would be strong at any college in the US.

Woosmom…Why would you automatically assume that the OP should apply to Princeton instead of Cornell. I have three sons who had excellent stats, ECs and grades to attend any of the tiop schools. Two chose to attend Cornell, and one went to MIT. The son who graduated MIT will attend Cornell for grad school because he loved Cornell after spending some time on the campus.

The OP is a good candidate for Cornell College of engineering. Why would he apply to Princeton for engineering when Cornell has always been considered far better. The OP is not asking about Cornell vs a low tier school he is asking about a school in the same category. Do you have a son or daughter attending Cornell…if you did you would never make such a comment.

Herp derp Woosmom trololol.
Anyways, yeah you have a good chance! Good essays and recommendations will help.
But remember, it is a crapshoot. I know someone who was rejected at Cornell but accepted at Harvard.
Good luck!

u havent done any science competitions etc. which is why u might not get into MIT/haravrd etc

But yea cornell is a good chance

excellent grades and achievments!

I think doing regular for cornell will be a shoe in for u! Its more of ur “safety”

I think you should ED to columbia engineering. Youd be, simply put, a “perfect match”

chance me too! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/1174744-chance-me-please.html</a></p>

You definitely have an excellent chance at Cornell! Congrats on all your accomplishments. You’ve obviously worked hard. I also think that you have a great chance at Princeton. I’d really appreciate you’re opinion on my chances…http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1173642-new-member-chance-me-please.html</a></p>
