Essays- Common App one is good, about my identity crises and how I became a better Muslim, Cornell Supplement is good, wrote about how helping my mom study for the USMLE instilled a desire in me to enter medicine. One of my teachers from last year, a Cornell grad, read them and she said both were great.

Please chance me for Stony Honors, Cornell College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, University of Virginia, Bowdoin, and Amherst?

You have great objective stats but your ecs are somewhat generic. Write stellar essays and show that your ecs are important to you!

You definitely have a shot at all these schools; I’d say low reach for Cornell and Amherst and high match/low reach for UVA. I can’t really say for the other two.

Good luck! =)

I feel that you are a very strong candidate for this university. However, I get the feeling that you are stuffing your “resume” with a lot of empty EC’s that look good. I don’t see any sport or instrument that you have stuck with for any period of time. Being President of a club, etc. looks great, but it’s generally pretty easy. I am the president of a US politics club and a member of 3 others and it doesn’t take much effort.

Also, you couldn’t put half of your community service points on your application. You make three different points just for tutoring. You also say that you wrote letters to Peter King and Steve Israel. Well, I wrote a letter to Donald Trump (and he responded), and it didn’t even cross my mind to list that on an application. Like I said, it seems to me like you are stuffing your application because you think it looks better.

It’s always harder to get into a school like Cornell RD because so many amazing applicants apply, but you will still be very competitive. You have a shot at all those schools, and think you will get into multiple of them. I will say low reach for Cornell, and high matches for the rest. You’ll dfenitley get into a few. Good Luck!
