What’s the breakdown of your SAT score? The first 8 schools reject people with 4.0 gpas and 2400 SATs, while it’s not impossible to get in it’s pretty ****ing hard. As it stands your gpa is about a 3.6, which is relatively low compared to some of those schools. As for engineering, your SAT math score is especially important, again, you’re talking about kids that have 800’s on their math sections who get rejected. While you’re at it you might as well apply to MIT.

Same goes for business, I misread what you wrote, English instead of engineering, just replace 800 math with 800 writing/CR and the same advice applies

I agree with the above poster. Just a note though, if you apply buisness to Wharton at UPENN, it would be a high reach.

My 33 act wouldn’t balance out my 1960 SAT? I could just send that right?

Hmmm, all the ivies are definitely high reaches for you. Your ACT and SAT scores are not very high, and your EC’s seem kind of varied and mediocre. If you are top 5 in your class, that might help.

Cornell - Low reach
Harvard - Reach
Yale - Reach
Brown - Low reach
Princeton - Reach
Colombia - Low reach
UPenn - Low reach
Dartmouth - Low reach
BU - High safety
Northeastern - Safety
NYU - Low match

EDIT: DO NOT - DO NOT - DO NOT SEND YOUR SAT , send ONLY ACT

If you have a really high Math or Reading subscore on the ACT, then you could send the ACT alone. However, you still need to take SAT IIs and it would help if you took a subject test based on your intended major.

Killforstern, how are Brown, Columbia, and Dartmouth low reaches? They should all be comsidered reaches. For UPenn, if the OP is applying to Wharton, then it would also be considered a reach.

I thought a 33 was good enough for the Ivy League. My Extra-Curriculars are mediocre?

Good luck. If you have time, try to raise your standardized testing scores.

My breakdown for SAT is 630 CR 630 Math 700 W. ACT is strong I think, with a reading score of 35, but only a math of 28.

Your GPA (91% converted to 3.64), SAT1, and SAT2 are rather low for top schools. It seems your weakness is in Math. ACT at 33 is good, but just with that probably won’t bring you into Ivies. Is the 5 APs you’ve taken so far or by the time of graduation? I am wondering how rigorous is your course load. Do you have any scores on them? Are you AP scholar of any sort?

As of now, based on your GPA and ACT score:
Cornell: reach
Harvard: high reach
Yale: high reach
Brown: reach
Princeton: high reach
Colombia: reach
UPenn: reach
Dartmouth: reach
BU: low reach
Northeastern: match
NYU: low reach

I’ve taken the most rigorous course load. The aps are by the time of graduation. I’ve taken 3 so far, and I’ve scored 3s on all. AP LIT, AP Lang, AP USH. I’m not an AP Scholar, but I’m also on a TV show if that boosts my extracurriculars.

BU, Northeastern, NYU are all matches. You’ll honestly probably get into all of those.

As for the others, they seem a bit speculative. Do you actually like these schools? Or are you one of those “yeah, all Ivies are the same so I’ll just apply to all of them,” people? Make sure you really want to go to each individual school, because the Ivies are crapshoots.

Chance me back! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1520857-chance-me-these-8-lacs.html

I’m not sure if I would like them but if I get in, I’m going. The doors going to one of them could open is worth 4 years of my life.

What is the weakest part of my application?

GPA, SAT II scores, ECs to an extent.
