Chance me for Cornell?

Hi, I'm a senior in high school in the middle of my application process, and Cornell is probably my top "reach" school. I am posting for advice on whether I have a good chance of getting in or not. I'd like to be an engineer, possibly chemical or biochemical, and from what I've gathered Cornell has one of the better engineering programs out of the Ivies. I'm also taking the SAT's again this Saturday and have done much more prep for it than I did for my first time around, so hopefully I can raise those scores a bit. I also plan on doing the Chem and Math 2 subject tests again now that I'm in AP Chem and have taken AP Calc. I've taken all honors and AP courses, and gotten 5's on all the AP tests I've taken so far (Bio, U.S. history, Calc BC). This year I'm also in AP Chem and AP Physics C.
SAT's: Math-740 CR-640 Writing-640
ACT's: Composite (with writing)-35
GPA: 4.42 on a weighted scale
SAT subject (Bio): 800
SAT subject (Chem): 600
SAT subject (Math 2): 610
Class Rank: 8th out of 235
Extracurriculars: Part of a community service group that goes to New Orleans and also does service projects in my community. About 1000 hours logged over the past 3 years, including time in New Orleans. Also a part of NHS, math team, and varsity hockey and lacrosse.

Can anybody please chance me? I will chance back!

Whats your gpa unweighted

I am unable to chance you properly as i have no idea but Cornell is a huge reach for me and Based on your stats, you definitely havea much better chance than I do. xD

if u can bring your SAT up, you definitely havea good chance

So far, I don’t think your chances look too good, but you should definitely post again once your scores come back! Cornell Engineering is pretty competitive and you especially want to have high Chem/Math scores. I’d say it’s still a reach even if you bring them up to 700s. Do you think your essay and recs are good? And make sure you have a good supplement essay that truly shows your interest and research into the school.

Why retake the SATs with an ACT score of 35?

You have a great chance at Cornell! I would advise not submitting your SAT score (unless you get at least 700 on each section this time) or your SAT II Math 2 score. Otherwise, awesome stats!

Good luck! :)

Thanks for all the support and feedback guys, I’ll get to chancing all of you! And yeah I’ll repost once I get my SAT scores back, it will probably be like a few weeks since I just took them last saturday.

And boby642, my school doesn’t report unweighted GPA, so is it worth me calculating out myself?
