Chance me for CS at Brown, Harvard, Yale, Cornell, UChicago, and MIT!

Background: Junior girl from the Deep South (Regional diversity! Also, the fact that only 18% of CS graduates are women will hopefully work in my favor).

Objectives: 34 ACT composite; 35 English, 31 Math, 35 Reading, 36 Science, 10 Writing. 95.6 unweighted cumulative GPA (out of 100), 4.4 weighted (out of 5). I couldn’t take APs until this year, but I’m currently taking 4. I’m taking 3-5 next year, depending on how the scheduling works out. My school doesn’t rank because it’s so small.

ECs: Spanish Club (9th-current, President this year), Varsity swimming (9th-current), Computing Club (founding officer this year, likely President next year), Scholars’ Bowl (10th-current) Model UN (10th to current, only allowed to participate since 10th), Honors Reading Seminar (10th-current, only allowed to participate since 10th), and a school-specific community service organization that’s similar to Eagle Scout requirements (10th-curent).

Etc.: NJHS/NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, 2 Scholastic Gold Keys for photography, award for Best European History student in the school. Our Scholars’ Bowl team went to the national championship last year. My rec letters and essays will be absolutely phenomenal. One of my teachers for the recs will be my APCS teacher, who absolutely loves me. He said he has connections to MIT’s CS department and that he would happily put in a good word for me, but I don’t know the depth of his connections.
