<p>Hi, I'm a half white/half Asian male applying to Cornell ED for Computer science.</p>
<p>Academics:
School type: competitive public magnet (in the top 50 nationally in us news)
GPA: 3.97 UW (school doesn't do weighted). the only thing bringing my GPA down is 2 A-'s: both in english of sophomore and freshman year
Rank: school doesn't rank
SAT: 2210 (CR 710, M 800, W 700)
SATII: 800 math II, taking chem soon (probably 770-800)
all honors classes freshman+sophomore year (no APs or IB offered until junior year)
Junior classes: AP Calc BC, AP Chemistry, AP comp sci (all 5), IB history HL, IB french SL, rest honors
Senior: AP Stats, Multi calc, AP Bio, continuing with the IB history and french (not many other options available)
School doesn't offer AP humanities, only IBs</p>
<p>ECs (this is where I get nervous):
Secretary of Rotary club (3 years)
Member of school's religious club (2 years)
Member of Amnesty International (2 years)
NHS - did ~15 hours of tutoring
~70 volunteer hours:
40 at local religious ed
30 at facility for mentally/physically disabled children</p>
<p>I want to apply to the engineering college, as it will be easier to take a double major in something like ECE, which I'm really considering. Do I have a good enough chance for engineering with the ED boost? Would it raise my chances to apply to CS at Arts and Sciences instead? (though I'm not sure I would even want to do this because I don't really want to have to take more humanities)</p>
<p>Side question: What would be the best thing to list for my nationality that could possibly help my chances?</p>
<p>So yeah, chance me please... I am nervous especially for my ECs, but I won't be too bummed if I get rejected.. I am nowhere near a "star student"</p>
