Chance me for CSE and potential scholarships

Intended major Biomedical engineering or Chemical Engineering

GPA: 4.0 Unweighted; Most rigorous schedule

ACT: 32(33 superscored)

Extracurriculars: Good, nothing spectacular.

Aaronyah…My guess would be you’re in great shape for admission to CSE. Your GPA and excellent ACT score puts you solidly in the top percentiles of admitted students to CSE this fall.

Regarding scholarships, are you IS or OOS? If OOS, you should be well positioned for the Gold National scholarship which will cover the difference between IS and OOS tuition, and be very competitive for a Presidential scholarship which is currently valued at $1K-$10K per year depending on your overall stats/application package. There are also several other university-wide merit scholarships (Bentson, etc.) which you are eligible and competitive for. If you’re IS there’s also a good chance you might be awarded a Maroon and Gold Leadership or U of Minn Academic Excellence scholarship. Here’s the full list of university wide awards if you haven’t seen it. There is no additional scholarship application required, your application for admission will qualify you for consideration for any of these scholarships you meet the requirements for. Good Luck!!

Btw…I’d recommend applying early. The application is easy to complete, and last I knew didn’t require any essays. If you make the priority deadline (used to be Nov 1st??) you’ll probably have your admissions decision and an initial scholarship offer before Christmas.
