Lots of good ec’s (mostly pertaining to CS).

Personal statement is good according to all of my proofreaders.
Please chance me for CSE direct admit (in-state).

I can tell you someone was direct admitted two years ago with all stats inferior to yours EXCEPT test score. (ACT 35)

@FarWestCoast it will be fourth time taking SAT if i retake… December ACT is too late… :frowning: do you think having an extremely strong course rigor(taking 2nd lvl undergrad engr courses), good ec’s(founder of cs club, captain of frc and ftc teams) and good personal statement(many of my teachers said it is the best one they have ever read) will offset my mediocre score? I have a 1400 cr+m combined.

Your SAT is good enough as well as your other stats. Remember though that UW asks to send ALL the SAT scores taken and they do not superscore, i.e. they do not recalculate the composite score. So they will see everything. But, unfortunately, all your good stats are no absolute garantee that you will be admitted: the admission rate is less than 5% so many super qualified applicats are denied. But if you do not try you will never know.

@SingleChild do you think that I have a good chance? I am also leaning towards business and their direct admissions is much more lenient.

No chance at all.

My daughter tried for direct admission to CS and Foster School of Business (she would have been happy in either) and didn’t get into either one. My advice to you is to focus on one instead of indicating interest for both. She is currently majoring in systems engineering (a mix of business and engineering) on the other side of the country because she could major in anything she wanted there. She also received a much better FA package than the UW offered her.

The previous poster mentioned race but my daughter and I attended a CS info. session in 2012 and at that time they stated they were not allowed to consider race or gender in CS admission. I assume that is still the case.
