Junior year, wanting to see how it'd be for me to get in. There's definitely a lot of other schools but I've always wanted to go to Hunter, the place is really comfortable for me and I live pretty close, I think it may be the best choice for me so I'm just wondering about this.

Academic
GPA - 90/100
Rank - Undisclosed
SAT - Thinking it'll be a 2000+.
SAT II - Math II - 750, may take U.S. History as well this year.
AP - APWH - 5, this year - AP English, AP U.S. Government, AP U.S. History, AP Psychology

Miscellaneous
I've done a fair few of the usual community service, etc, but Hunter does not take in regards to EC/Recommendations/Essays, so I'll leave this out.

Any ideas? The only problem that's really hurting me is a class in Freshman year where I did quite poorly, around an 80. Since it's the only class that fills up the credits, I can no longer improve that area. Overall freshman was I'd say roughly an 86, I've improved and had 90+ in all my classes. Right now, I'm averaging roughly a 95-96 UW.

You should take the SAT first, especially since the numbers appear to matter much more than ECs and essays. You have a decent chance I believe

An upward trend is obviously a good thing. You’ve shown that you’re serious now.

What does Hunter look at other than grades? Surely there’s more to it than numbers?

Yeah, I’ll be taking it around the end of spring semester or during it, I believe. I’ll probably be taking the ACT too.

@Immasenior - I’ve asked the GC and she said they only really care about the GPA/Test scores.

Basing it off CollegeData, they only care about:
Rigor of Secondary School Record
Academic GPA
Standardized Tests

Yeah, you look like you’ll be fine if you get a 2000+ on your SAT.

That’s pretty interesting. I’ll bet they don’t even have adcoms. If admission is solely based off of grades and scores, they could punch those numbers into a program to rank applicants. If your grades and scores are above the average admitted applicants grades and scores, you can pretty much guarantee an acceptance.

Thanks, guys. Hope I’ll have a good chance at it.
