Chance me for DARTMOUTH ED

GPA: 4.307 class rank 1/404
-Not the greatest course rigor but 6 APs total

SAT I: 740 CR, 760 Math, 800 Writing
SATII: 800 Math II, 730 Latin

Korean Male....fml

ECs:

Founder/President of charity Poker club (11,12)
- I organized charity Texas Hold em Poker tournaments at the school for a local food bank
- Did junior and senior year. Raised $4600 dollars in two years

School Newspaper (9-12)
-Editor-in-chief senior year
-News Editor junior year

Camp Counselor/lifeguard (11,12)
-Went to this camp for 10 years, wrote my commonapp essay about it

Cross country (9-12)
-Varsity Senior Year

Spring Track (9-11)
-Varsity (9-11)

...various other things

I got a LOT of school awards, national merit commended, etc.

I think my essay was pretty good, but then again everybody says that haha. I put like fifty hours into it if that means everything. I wrote about my summer camp, what it means to be a camp counselor, and what my camp means to me.

Reccomendation letters were probably good. I asked my english teacher freshman year (who was the advisor for charity poker) for a supplemental rec. I'm not gonna be like those other CC donks who think every single one of their recs was incredible.

What do you guys think?

Class rank and GPA is great! Your course schedule must have been atleast near-most rigorous as your #1 in rank, 6 Ap’s does seem kind of low but if your school only offers about 5-8 I’d say your fine. Great EC’s but as you know being Korean is a Negative on applications since you do not get the minority advantage. Nonetheless applying ED I’m sure you have a good chance. Good Luck on your endeavors!

Dartmouth received 1,791 ED applications this year ([The Early Line on Early Applications for the Class of 2016 - NYTimes.com](The Early Line on Early Applications for the Class of 2016 - The New York Times)) and normally accepts around 25% of ED applicants. Compare yourself to last year’s ED applicants:

thanks guys. anyone else? I am really worried

bump…

You’re gonna get in

I think you have decent chances.

why dartmouth ED?
I think you hace decent chances at other top colleges?

You have fairly good chances. However, most schools specifically say that supplemental recommendations should not be from teachers.

I liked it a lot there. The other colleges had too much of a cut-throat vibe for me. I also really like the outdoors. I wrote my essay about it.

^Nice haha! thats what i like about Dartmouth since it’s in rural New Hampshire

anyone else?

bump…

I’d say you have at least a 65% of getting in. You have great scores/rank/GPA and really good ECs.

Thanks I hope it’s true

Good catch on the “I’m not gonna be like those other CC donks who think every single one of their recs was incredible.” Umm, you have the academics (I imagine that even though you did not take a bunch of APs, you took all your school had to offer). In terms of ECs, they’re decent, especially with the initiative and results shown with the charity. All that + ED doesn’t look bad at all.

haha everyone says that ALL their essays and recs are incredible when clearly that can’t be true

bump////////////

bumppppppppppppppppppppp

bummmmmmmmmmmmmmmpppp
