Chance me for Dartmouth please.

I would love to be accepted to Dartmouth. I'm a Caucasian female at a small town public high school. I'm taking Biology, Advanced Drama, Drama I intern, AP Government, Spanish III, AP Language and Composition, and Psychology.
I have a 3.65 and I'm an environmental activist, ride horses, Treasurer of Drama, was Secretary of Drama last year, have a cleft lip and palate, Cavern Tour Guide, was a veterinary technician, advocate of gay rights active in GSA. If you need any more info, let me know.

Scores really help a lot with chancing.

I got 610 in both English sections and 520 in math on the SAT.

Those scores are a lot lower than average for a school like Dartmouth

Anyone?..

I don’t mean to be harsh, but there’s no way you’ll get into Dartmouth with a 1130/1600 SAT score. Have you considered retaking?

Hate to say it but scores put you out of range. The avg. SAT score at Dartmouth is close to a 1450 as a reference point.

and on top of that…dartmouth is a scorewhore

i’m sorry, but how will “have a cleft lip and palate” help you???

^ Wondering the same thing…

Hahah hieronymus great question

cleft lip and palate?..anyways, you should probably shoot for 700’s on those two to have a chance. I mean, you’re not bad, it’s just that it’s not ivy material. don’t worry you’re not the only one. Try for the 1500 range, but know that it’s a reach. you’ll get into many other good ones, though!

chance me too…http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/559685-i-got-owned-pwnd-even.html

Dartmouth is not a scorewhore.
No top school only accepts students with the highest scores. Most have a rough idea of a baseline score which will get you through the first stage of screening and only after you get past that will your application be actually considered (bar exceptional circumstances/students).
After that, scores don’t really matter they base your admission on all the other factors. scores are just used to help you put one foot through door.

but yeah a 1740 probably won’t cut it. You should aim for the median 50% SAT scores for any college you apply to (ideally above them). Here’s dartmouth’s median scores

SAT Critical Reading: 660 - 770
SAT Math: 670 - 780
SAT Writing: 660 - 770

So ideally aiming for 1990-2320.

Your SAT and GPA are low, so I predict rejection. Sorry. No need to drag it out though.

Smartcookie, I just checked your profile and realized that you had been accepted to HPS. Why the hell are you still on CC?

^Once a CCer, always a CCer! No problem with that!!!
