I’d say you have as great a chance as anyone. You’re certainly among the most competitive applicants in the pool, and with great scores, grades, and ECs, you should applaud yourself!

I think you have a great shot, but you should also apply to top LACs. Practically everyone in the Ivy League has similar caliber stats as you, so it wouldn’t hurt to apply to other tops schools outside of the Ivy league, where you are more likely to stand out.
Good luck!

@mirrormirror96 @sirpepsi Thank you guys! I appreciate your input :slight_smile:

Also, if anyone knows, how important is peer rec?

@ShawnLooch the Peer Recommendation while billed as “optional” is important. Choose someone that will be able to provide insight as to who you are and what qualities you would bring to the Dartmouth community.

@saffysmum Thanks!

@ShawnLooch if I may make an unsolicited suggestion in terms of the Peer Recommendation. There is a thread in Dartmouth College that was started by @smithemi97 in September entitled “Peer Recommendation?” It would be worth your time to read the responses that myself and other members posted in answer to smithemi97’s inquiry as to whether or not it was truly necessary to submit one.
Advice was given as to why one should send in the recommendation and what to include and exclude. I believe it will give you helpful additional information as you debate the correct path for you to take with your application.

@saffysmum That was extremely helpful! Thanks for clearing that up :slight_smile:

Dartmouth is a great school - if interested in easier schools might look at Holy Cross and Colgate.

And for reference, I ended up choosing one of my best guy friends to write mine. He’s a freshman at University of St. Thomas so I figured he’s already been there and done that with writing college essays haha. I still haven’t heard anything about it though… perhaps I ought to check on that.

@smithemi97 good idea - I was thinking about asking one of my better friends in college. Thanks!

I think you have a great shot at Dartmouth! Better shot than me, I think lol.

Chance me back!
