Not trying to brag or anything. Nervous. My dad really wants me to go there.
My school has only unweighted GPAs.
Cum GPA (inclu. freshman year): 3.92
GPA of soph/junior year (so far): 3.87
School doesn’t offer APs, but I have taken Honors Spanish 3 years, Honors Math 3 years, Honors Chem, Honors English, Honors US History (pretty much the same as APUSH, but not called APUSH).
SAT: 2320 (800 reading, 800 writing, 720 math)
I have a couple A-'s, but only one B+, that was first semester sophomore English (teacher was weird about grading, for some reason, and told me I had an A- but gave me a B+)
EC’s: JV tennis freshman year, Vars tennis Soph/Junior year, club and USTA tennis (ranking isn’t super high, though, so not recruitment material) Vars lacrosse Soph/Junior year, “Volunteer Explainer” (position) at Exploratorium (science museum), internship at lab with professor of astronomy from USF (soph second semester, summer and all of junior year,) cofounder of animal rights club at my school which has raised almost $3000 for organizations like PETA etc., one year debate.
Race: Quarter-Dutch, quarter-Pakistani, half-Indian (I pretty much identify as Eurasian, because I’m a dual citizen of US and the Netherlands, but I appear dark so when people ask I simply say half-Indian. BQ: Should I talk about being Pakistani, or is it too dangerous in this environment?)
Legacy: My dad went there undergrad.
I know Dartmouth is very, very competitive, and I know there’s a lot of demand. I’m only a second semester junior so I have a little time to write some good essays.
But what would you think my chances are? Do I have a decent chance?
