EC’s:

Academics:
I have been playing piano for multiple years. I am currently preparing for ABRSM level 5 testing. I love math and was on the math team for the last two years. In which I was the only 6th grader to qualify for regionals in my school. I also came number 1 in my school at regionals and 15th place overall. I have qualified for Mathcon National competitions with a ranking of 7th in the midwest, and honorable mention at the final competition. I also participated in the math competition known as math kangaroo. In this competition, I got 4th place nationally, and 2nd in the state. In the AMC 8, I received Honor Roll in 7th grade and distinguished honor roll in 8th grade. In the AMC10, I received the achievement roll. In school, I also participated in the science fair. I qualified for the regional and state competition. At the state competition, I received the gold award. I was accepted and attended the highly selective apogee program with northwestern/CTD. I mentored the raspberry Pi station in my school’s Steam team. This team is an engineering team. I took my first SAT and ACt over the summer. I was given awards from Northwestern and IMSA for being in the top 1 percent of students.

Sports:
I swim for one of the nations best swim teams. In this team, I have qualified for the regional meet. This meet is an elite meet with highly selective timings. I also participate in Track and Field at my school. Lastly, I am a 1st-degree black belt, who has participated in many state sparring competitions. I have received many awards in such competitions.

Volunteering:
I have done the bridges program in my school before it shut down. In this program, we helped people in the community. Once every year on valentines day we used to go to senior citizens home and spend time with the elderly. her I played piano very often. I am currently trying to get involved with the American Indian Foundation. I have also raised a lot of money to help the American Heart Association. I am a youth ambassador for the EKUM foundation located in India.

I do not need financial Aid

Probably, but if your personal statements are not good, you will not get in.

I also had really good, 10/10, interviews with all of the schools. The interviews were in person. As far as the personal statements go, I think they are really good. They convey the challenges I have been through and events that have shaped my life. I got them edited by my ELA teacher, parents, and an extracurricular essay person.

your grades and scores are somewhat low for these schools.

Are you competitive for the swim team at any of these schools (it’s easy to compare your times)? If you are, have you reached out to the coaches?

Yeah I my times are near the average to those in the swim team.

Have you contacted the coaches at @GMC2918 asked? If your times would have you scoring at NE Champs then most schools would consider you a recruit and then your lower then average grades would not keep you out. Best of luck.

I agree with big blue swim. However, at least in NE Swim, regionals is not elite level. Perhaps this is different in a different LSC. But if you are scoring points at AG champs/seniors you could possibly be considered a recruit. You scores would not keep you out of the running as a recruit.

As for the averages of the swim times, they can be skewed. There are kids who are not recruits swimming which lowers the times. There are meets that they know they will win so they swim their worst events for fun. You are better off looking at the interschol results and seeing if you would score points.
And I too am curious if you have talked to the coaches.

" highly selective apogee program with northwestern/CTD"
no its not.

SSAT is low but not enough to disqualify you. Same is true of grades

Where you shine is your ECs. You just have to hope they need a strong swimmer.

What was your SAT/ACT score?

@TPAJ03 He’s applying for grade 9 boarding school, why should he be taking the SAT/ACT?

In the first post he mentioned that he had taken his first SAT/ACT over summer

" I took my first SAT and ACt over the summer"

If you visit the nepssa site you can see the times from last year’s championship meet to get a sense of where you would end up. I would say any A final time might be in a might place you in good position to be considered a “recruit.” If there’s such a term pre-College.

You would have been great if you marked a good percentile at least one section either on verbal or reading. Then, you could have gotten a 93 % or higher. I wish my conjecture is wrong. If true, AO might consider this highly for your admission. Other than that, your performance is great, especially math. Good luck!
