Oh my goodness! I’m also fluent in Chinese and English, in 8th grade, applying for Exeter and Deerfield, live in Georgia, played piano for 6 years, Play Clarinet, am a member of Beta Club! Sorry if that wasn’t the comment you were looking for but I was just in shock!! Well my interviewer said that these schools look for diversity and living in Georgia was an advantage (but if your Chinese it might be a disadvantage because of the huge Asian competition). I’ve heard that essays matter a lot so if you haven’t sent them yet, you should probably edit it a few times and get your english teacher or someone else thats experienced in writing to look at it. These are just a few tips that I’ve heard frequently. Good luck!

Did anyone else get their essays looked at by a teacher?
In advance, sorry for hijaking this thread.
You have an excellent chance of getting into those schools.

My God! Haven’t taken your SSAT yet? In December? Sorry, a bit of shock. Daughter is applying to same schools (plus 2 others), and took an early SSAT, and while O.K. (82%), decided to take December SSAT too, to try and improve her score (got 89%, so the extra work did help).

Other than that, the rest of your profile looks very good. I wouldn’t stress too much. Will you be applying for financial aid? Our middle-to-high school placement counselor advises us that financial aid will cause our daughter to be evaluated in a separate group - since there is only so many kids they can help with financial aid. We’ve been reading a blog from a girl that went through the process last year - and made it in, including financial aid ([BoardingPOV Acceptance and Financial Aid](http://www.boardingpov.com/category/acceptance-and-financial-aid/) ). Hope this helps you too, if it applies.

Hey Guys,
Does anyone think my EC’s aren’t strong enough?
What do you think each of the schools I’m applying for are looking for/expecting from applicants?
Answers are greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, I was interviewed by someone from Deerfield. Overall, I think the interview went OK except for one part where we talked about core values. He said that there were a lot of people applying to Deerfield from Georgia this year.

I took the SSAT today. I think I got every question right in the math sections. I might have missed at most two in the Reading Comp. part. Verbal was not so good. I omitted one question and probably got maybe 8 wrong.
