Chance me for dream schools!

Please chance me for: Cornell EARLY DECISION, Penn State University Park and Carnegie Mellon University.

Major : Computer Science

The ones I dream of most are Cornell and Carnegie Mellon!

NOTE:I was really immature and stupid when I started high school, and got so much more smarter as I approached senior year, so maybe the upward trend will help?

Hooks
Over the summer I went to a diffrent country and saw how smart the students there were and became motivated and from then on vowed to do better in math and science! This will most likely be my SAT Topic.

Chance me with all of the stats above please!

And then if you have extra time..

Chance me with the same stats as above, but with this small piece of information also included:

Rank (This is so low mainly because of 9th and 10th grade, but its been giong up since)
Freshman year rank: 110/185
Soph year rank: 101/185
Junior year rank: 69/185

69/185 is top 50% (I know its not good )

What are my chances with the above mentioned stats and no rank, and then with the same stats and rank mentioned?

I think you have the right stuff, but the ranking may be a factor tho. You’ll surely ge tinto Penn, but Cornell and Mellon may be hard. You can improve you chances by writing an essay of how you turned yourself around, but PSU isn’t bad, you can transfer to Cornell after tour first year.
I went to a boarding school in Switzerland with so many smart people from around the world, I studied a lot but my class rank was average or below, so I did not get into my two dream schools MIT and Columbia. I got into MSU and by the first year I had a 4-0 GPA, I promptly applied to Columbia and Darthmouth, I got accepted by Columbia, (didn’t apply to MIT cuz I hate them now) but decided to stay on at State. So it does depend, you a smart kid you’ll get into somewhere good.

I also think that your stats improved greatly since freshman year, and you’ll definitely get into Penn State. I think Cornell is definitely a reach unfortunately, and Carnegie Mellon is as well. However, I think you have a better chance to get into CM than Cornell. I have a question for you though. How did you manage to improve your SAT CR score so much from a 560 to a 750? I currently have a 570 in CR (my math and writing are 730 and 690). Do you have any tricks/pointers to get your CR up by that much? Please let me know because I also really need to improve my score to 630 or up!

Thankyou for your reviews, basically Critical reading and writing were the hardest for me to improve! For Critical reading, I spent ALOT of time memorizing words and improving my reading skills. When I first took the exams I realised that my reading was slow and I didnt know what half the words ment, and then after studying alot of vocabulary (1000+ words) everything started to make so much more sense.

After practicing a bit more and learning from my mistakes I was able to consistantly score 700+ on reading.

Rank will unfortunately be know to colleges whether you self report or not. Look up how many from any school you’re interested in rank where you do. That will help most.

Thankyou for your reviews, and I like the idea about incorporating into my essay, any more reviews?
