Chance me for Duke Early Decision?

I've already sent it in, and I have my interview scheduled soon, so hopefully that will go well! Duke is 100% my dream school; to be honest, I can't even imagine myself going to another school.

Applying early decision to trinity

Common app essays:
My extracuricular essay was about Boy scouts/eagle scout
My personal statement was about my twin brother with learning disabilities, and how he has influenced me, and how I have had to help him all throughout high school, basically helping him learn everything he doesn't understand in school. Hopefully will compensate a little bit for my gpa which is good, but probably sub-duke material.

Also, left rowing due to an injury, and never went back as I met a whole new group of people i enjoyed competing with, and I was good at it

I am getting recommendations from my Latin teacher of three years, and my English teacher of two years. Both should be good.
Guidance counselor will probably be standard.
Also a recommendation from my assistant scoutmaster, which is very good, and a peer recommendation from my best friend, which will also be good.

Would appreciate any input you can give me!

Just the obvious for highly selective schools. GPA is low versus your standardized test scores. You have 7 honors and 8 AP courses. Given the courses you took my first guess is that you go to a school that offers 24 plus AP/Honor courses. If so would not be looked at as most demanding schedule given the opportunity.

What’s your class rank. If your school does not rank are you at least in the top decile (they report deciles). Grades can mean different things and not all have grade inflation. Other than the grades (I think your curriculum is ok, but calc and a science ap would have been better), you look to have a solid shot with great SATs and solid ECs. Solid boost for Duke ED and so you are smart to chose that option. Overall assuming top decile, I would say better than 50/50.

My school does not report deciles, there’s no class rank at all reported. Could some other people weight their opinions on my chances?

I think you have a good shot if strong essays. However, do not have your heart set on it. Can be so random. Have backups ready to go, essays written at ski schools D3 maybe? And others
