There is no point in asking this question. Duke is a reach for nearly everybody.

Haha, but do you think I will be the kind of student that gets accepted?

Are you applying for Pratt or Trinity?

What is your area of interest?

Does your school offer AP chemistry. If so why didn’t you take it in Grade 10?

Which part of california do you live?

What are your grades in AP classes?

Once I get the answers to the above, I will provide some suggestions

Trinity

Something business, finance related, will probably do economics

School offers AP Chemistry, never thought about taking it in 10th grade, pretty much all advanced students took Honors Chemistry along with Honors Biology the year prior.

I live in Orange County, Southern California.

Grades in AP Classes were all solid A’s, one A- in Spanish, and two AP+'s in Biology and World History.

Based upon what you wrote, here is how I would rate you on each of the 6 categories. For details on the rating scale see http://www.dukechronicle.com/articles/2010/03/29/application-increase-overwhelms-review-system

1) Curriculum: 4
2) Achievement: 3-4
3) Letters of Recc: ?? 3-4
4) EC/Personal Qualities: 2-3
5) Essay: ??? 3-4
6) Standardized Testing: 4

Based upon this your score would range from low of 14 to a high of 23. This is quite a wide range and I say your chances of admission are highly dependent on what happens with your Recs and essays. Best of luck

Thanks
