Thanks!

Bump… come on guys! 42 views and no replies! I am really nervous about this so any input would be helpful!

Duke: Reach, ED will improve your chances there by a lot though.
NW: Low reach / high match
ND: high match

bumppppppp

Notre Dame is a reach with those test scores; they don’t consider writing, so it’s a 1300 out of 1600. If you get that up, though, you’ll have a better shot.

Edit: Correction. They will “see” writing and a high score “may help” but their primary concern is CR+M.

I just wanted to say that Northwestern might be a little bit difficult to predict in terms of high/low match/reach that kinda stuff. Lots of stories in the Northwestern 2015 Facebook group about how perfect GPA, high test scores, etc. were outright rejected (including my valedictorian who got into every Ivy minus Columbia). Pour your heart and soul into the essay and things will work out. Otherwise…

All three are very difficult to predict and regularly turn down students with perfect stats due to holistic admissions. I know the essays at Notre Dame matter for a particularly large amount. This year, they turned down 70% of valedictorian applicants and 50% of 2400SAT applicants, so it really isn’t all about stats.

Notre Dame is very big on test scores and they’re not shy about saying so. They want 1400s. Your test scores won’t cut it.

Okay, thanks for your thoughts. What do you guys think about Duke? Most of the feedback seems to be about Notre Dame and Northwestern.
