You definitely have a great chance as long as your essays are strong. Although OOS competition for UCB is fierce, your app seems to be stand out because of the academic rigor & ECs & your strong SAT score.

Would ED help me out any at Duke or do i not really need to?

ED would definitely help if you’re sure you want to go there

Yeah thats the prob, not totally sure

bump

I would definitely recommend not doing ED. With your scores and ECs you will probably get into all these schools RD

I think Duke could still be a reach, but it could go either way. I think you have a really good chance for CUB

ED definitely helps a lot for Duke

I think that you have a great shot at all of those schools, Make sure that you apply to Duke ED if it is your top school and it’ll help you a lot. Congratulations on your achievements. I am positive that you will end up somewhere great:) Any hooks?

Duke is a high reach, Northwestern is a reach, UCB is a reach.

The GPA kinds of hurts :frowning:

My suggestion is to do your best to get a 4.0 senior year, and do well on your upcoming tests. Then hope for the best :)

Essays about everyday jobs usually work too. Try writing one on “Part-Time Cashier at Target”, and talk about how it has impacted your outlook on life.

Thanks for all the replies guys

But still bumpity bump

For Berkeley-What is your GPA for 10th grade-11th grade only since they do not count 9th grade. This makes a difference. (Badish Freshman year goes bye bye) Also disregard + and -s. (If you get a lot of A-s its the best thing in the world rather if you have a few B+s its awful. )Also for being out of state your very large number of AP classes will boast your W CA GPA since they only count AP/IB classes for weight. While your UW GPA is only good not great I think your very rigors coarse load will make up for that. Agree with puzzled123 with respect to the essay. At UC schools they seem to hold more weight. Good Luck! You have a great chance! Chance back?

Yeah I calculated the weighted GPA using the scale Berkeley uses and got a 4.07-4.11 so i think im ok there, not sure about UW for the other two… and sure of course ill chance back. Thanks for the response.
