chance me for Duke undergrad?

Please help with my chances of getting into Duke. I'm a junior. My first SAT I just got back was a 2080, which I plan to raise hopefully to 2100-2200s. I have gotten 4 B's as final grades these 3 years, all the rest A's, and I'm in tough GT and AP varied classes, weighted GPA of about 4.5 or 4.6. My school system is one of the best in the country (public, very competitive) I play field hockey (was captain one year), and sing in 2 school choirs. In NHS and National Spanish Honor Society. I also have done an international exchange and overnight leadership programs. IN addition to curriculum-based 75 service hours, I'll have my 16 hrs per semester from NHS and an additional 30 from summer programs. Ideas for my chances of getting into Duke? (should I apply ED/EA?) And I'll be applying as a legal independent, if that helps. I'd really appreciate it.

it sounds like you have great potential, especially since you’re just a junior! you will definitely have time to improve those scores and get more stuff in that will reinforce your chances. I would definitely try and get those scores up even though they’re pretty high considering you’re only a junior, keep taking hard and AP classes (obviously do well in them too), and keep adding on to your extra curriculars. My friend’s top choice was Duke when she applied and got waitlisted. She was 4th in her class out of 500, retook EVERY single SAT until she got the perfect 2400, and really showed them her interest, so she eventually got off the list. My suggestion would be to really show them your interest, because as you can see even being ranked 4th out of 500 students (her lowest grade was an A) she was waitlisted, and obviously to show them how strong your academics are. I’ve also even heard of people getting in with a score of 1990 which is really rare, because they REALLY showed a great interest with a bomb resume, and a great amount of extra curriculars. So like I said, keep up the hard work, and if anything raise those scores and go for an interview in the fall, that wouldn’t bite.

Thanks so much!
