Chance me for EA? So nervous!

I am a white female from New York applying to Boston College EA. I have a 31 ACT, a score of 710 on the Literature Subject Test, and a score of 700 on the U.S. History Subject Test. My unweighted GPA is a 3.81, and I will have taken five AP courses by the time I graduate… AP World (4), AP Lang (4), AP U.S. (5), AP Lit (will take in May 2015), and AP Bio (will take in May 2015). I am ranked in the top 7% of my class, but my rank would be higher if they calculated weighted GPAs at my school (they don’t). The school I attend is a small, rural public high school that does not offer many AP classes, but I have taken one of the most rigorous course loads within my grade. I am the President of my Girl Scout troop, secretary of the National Honor Society, a member of Student Council, and I have participated in Cross Country, (Team Captain) and Track and Field. I have many community service hours through my time in Girl Scouts, which I have been involved in since I was five years old. I am middle class, and was baptized in the Methodist faith. I felt that my Common App essay, and my supplements were strong, and I assume that my letters of recommendation were excellent because I am close with both my teachers that wrote them. I applied to the College of Arts and Sciences… any advice anyone could offer on what my chances are is greatly appreciated! I’m so nervous to find out my fate next week, and any ideas about what my admission outcome might be would be so helpful! Go Eagles!

I’d say you’re a low reach/high match. I’m in a similar boat… hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst. Good luck to you, hopefully next week we’ll both be happy campers (Girl Scout pun intended)!

@anniemalfarm‌ Thanks for chancing me! :slight_smile: if you don’t mind me asking, what are your stats?

2140 SAT (730 CR, 680 M, 730 W)
3.87 uw, 4.1 w
AP: Lang (5), USH (5), Calc AB (4), and Bio (3). Currently taking AP Lit, AP Calc BC, AP Euro and AP Physics 1.
SAT II: 700 Math 2, 760 Lit

4 years golf, 2x captain, we won the 5A (highest level) state championship last year when I was captain (although I didn’t play). I’m a member of student council and LINK Crew (to help freshman adjust) and I’m an NHS officer. Outside of school, I’m in a youth leadership group which I spend a lot of time on. I also have done over 150 hours of com. service in high school. I thought my essays were very good and my recs were good. One of them was from a Jesuit scholastic at my school, so hopefully that helps!

I applied to CSOM.

@anniemalfarm‌ I think you’re in for sure!!!

@blueeyes1997‌ Haha thank you! Only problem is that my rank isn’t great. My school doesn’t rank, but I know on the counselor rec they have to specify it in a decile, for example top 10%, top 20%, etc. I’m only top 20% because my class is extremely competitive.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the rank, your stats look good to me! :)

@xxnataliexx‌ that’s what I thought, but then I read a statistic that said 81% of BC admitted students are in the top 10% of their class AHHH

Bump… If anyone else could give me advice about my chances I would be so grateful! I can barely sleep and go to school because of how anxious I am :-S

Did u go ed2 anywhere @blueeyes1997‌
