Activites:
*Figure Skating for 4 years. I'm not a superstar or anything but I really enjoy it and plan to get my coach to do a supplemental letter of rec.
*Multicultural Cooking Club for 4 years. I'm secretary of this club and we introduce new ethnic recipes to the school.
*French Club for 4 years. This year I was Vice President and next I will be President. We tutor other students in French and engage in French cultural activites.
*French Summer Exchange. I went to France for 2 weeks during the summer and stayed with a host family. I learned a lot about French culture and also about how others perceive Americans. Btw, I am now hosting the girl that I stayed with.
*Next year I will be on the school newspaper. I'll be a staff writer and I'm super excited!

Letters of Rec shall be amazing--I can feel it.

I know that the essays have to be outstanding but I'm wondering if my URM status and good GPA could outweigh the low SAT score. Nevertheless, I am positively taking the SAT again.

Thanks and happy essay writing!

What are your scores on the subsections of the SAT? Chicago doesn’t consider the writing portion, so your critical reading and math scores are what really count. Your low composite out of 2400, however, indicates that you’d probably benefit from a retake. You want to try to get your CR + Math score to be over 1300/1600, and closer to 1400 if possible.

“I’m wondering if my URM status…”

Work hard on your application regardless of your race.

Also, do you do community service? That’s missing.
