Chance me for ea?

So I'm your typical soulless asian applicant without the asian accomplishments :/
Here are my stats:

*Upward GPA trend!! 2 B+s and 1 B in Freshman year, 4 B+s in Sophomore year ... but STRAIGHT As in Junior year
Took all honors classes and 1 AP sophomore year and 4 in junior year
Rank: top 5% 14 out of 300+ kids from just freshman and sophomore year hopefully in top 10 after straight As in junior year...

EC:

Awards

Third place in science league- freshman year
AP Scholar

****Obviously, my stats are not spectacular, and I'm highly unlikely to get into top schools because of my lackluster academic/ extracurricular performance so far. But in truth, I feel that I have matured throughout high school, and through my experience working with lower-income kids and trying to teach them to enjoy education and learn I have learned myself the value of education--it is not just another "mandatory" qualification for success and a source of pride, it is the chance to improve oneself to become much greater. (sounds really corny but I REALLY feel this way ;x)

PLANNING ON APPLYING EA IF IT HELPS! TELL ME IF I HAVE A SHOT, AND DON'T BE TOO HARSH:)

give it a try- good SAT scores and GPA. I think a good shot.

bumppppppppppp

I’m not in any position to chance you, I have very similar stats and will be applying this year as well. But I’d just like to say if you can portray your personality in your essays as well as you did here: ie “typical soulless asian” remark, I’d say you have a decent shot. Best of luck!

lol thanks! @ealdi94 best of luck to you too:) hopefully, we’re both admitted to the class of 2017! are you applying Early Action?

@elloelise Haha yes hopefully. And not quite sure yet, I need to talk with my guidance counselor and try to figure it all out. Since it’s not restrictive or binding, however, there’s a good chance I will apply EA.

Hey man, don’t beat yourself over the writing, they don’t count it! They’ll see a 1550, which in my eyes, gives you a great shot! GPA-wise, I’m in a similar position as you, and hopefully the admission reps can see past the numbers, so write good essays and I think you have a great chance
