I was also wondering if being from another country be considered a "hook"?

Thanks.......

We have similar interests! I am also interested in science and russian. I am only a junior, so I still have some time. What school are you applying to at Georgetown?

What are the 3 Honor Societies? You look well qualified.

How do you get a 5.1 GPA? Are there 6 point classes?

I have a 5.1 because our school weighs Dual Enrollement/AP/IB classes .08. The three honor societies: NHS, Rho Kappa, and Mu Alpha Theta. Im applying to COS… Thanks guys… I feel like the next few months are going to be really interesting :)

I don’t know if there is an AP Russian exam even though our school offers the class.

I think you have a solid shot. Your SAT and Subject Test scores are right in the range that they’re looking for, and it’s obvious you’re taking challenging courses this year.

As for being an international student, I wouldn’t exactly call that a “hook.” I’ve always thought of a hook as something that catches the attention of the Admissions Committee because it’s a distinguishing characteristic/achievement. Georgetown gets plenty of international applicants, so I don’t think it will help (or hurt) you.

I’m a permanent resident, so i wouldn’t be applying a international. I was looking at the student body stats for several schools and i didn’t find anyone from the country I’m from.

Self Bump 10char

I don’t love your odds. Your SATs are solid, but far from overwhelming, as are your ECs. So you might get in, but the odds are certainly less than 50/50
