Chance me for ED Bowdoin and/or Middlebury

I am currently going into my senior year and I am looking at several schools. They seem to be way out of reach for me, but I was hoping what I can do to try and get myself a more competitive candidate for them.

I am looking at:
Williams
Amherst
Bowdoin
Colby
Colgate
Any other suggestions?

*I am looking to major in Biochemistry

These are my main reach schools, I will be cutting it down to probably about 4 of these. But I was wondering my chances

I will be finding out about ELC(top 4%) soon

I think these are all reach schools. I wonder consider applying to those schools that do not require S.A.T.s as your current scores are below the lower 25th percentile of these schools. Bowdoin would be one of them. I also would consider other excellent but much less competitive liberal arts colleges, e.g. Knox, Gettysburg, Lawrence, etc… Check out Colleges that change lives by Laurence Pope for a bigger list.

I know its a reach for sure. I will not be submitting my scores of course. Will applying ED help me alot for bowdoin? I know it will still be a long shot and I plan on it. I honestly love Bowdoin alot, but I know my stats are really low for such a selective school.

Don’t submit scores for Bowdoin, write a killer essay… You ECs are good, and your GPA is great. Definitely a chance… Not sure how good of one it is though…

Best of luck nonetheless…

I am not going to submit scores for sure. My essay, I am having a little bit of trouble on, but I will have to think about it for sure.

To be honest, I don’t think your scores are high enough for Williams, Amherst, Middlebury or Colgate. If I were you I would look into some other test optional schools (like Bowdoin) on this list. Bates, Connecticut College and Dickinson that don’t require any tests at all. I think you’d have a better shot a these. Good Luck!

[Optional List | FairTest](ACT/SAT Optional List - Fairtest)

Ya, I totally know my tests scores aren’t high enough. Im just not a really good test taker to be honest. I am mainly looking at Bowdoin not only because of what it has to offer, but its also test optional.

Also, would Bowdoin be considered an “out of reach” school to apply ED? I dont want to really “waste” my ED. I love Bowdoin, but my first choice was Williams(due to it being a HUGE reach, i decided against it)… Alternatively, I decided on Bowdoin as my ED(reach) school, but how far out of reach would it be considering my tests scores not be submitted. Also, would Colby be considered a reach school for me too(also not submitting my scores either). I was thinking about applying EDII to Colby if I do not make it into Bowdoin.
